ENGLISH Lake Vestmannsvatn is located in Suður-Þing- eyjarsýsla, in North-Eastern Iceland, about 455 km from Reykjavík and about 25 km south of Húsavík by road no. 845. The lake is 2,4 km 2 and rises 25 m above sea level. River Reykjadalsá runs to the lake and creek Eyvindarlækur runs from the lake. There are various possibilities regarding accomidation in the surrounding areas. Camping are is i.g. at Dalkofinn, www.dalakofinn.is . Both brown trout and char can be caught in the lake and occasional salmon if you are lucky. Fishing is allowed from dawn to dusk, all year around. Fishing is prohibited within an 100 m ratio from the river mouths Late afternoon and early evening is the best chances to catch fish. There is an equal distribution for the whole season. Lake Vestmannsvatn is a good fishing lake with various depth of the water and different fishing spots. Please register before attending to fishing at (Dalakofinn Laugum 65°43,257’N,17° 22,371’W ) that is about 9 km south of the lake.
