55 ENGLISH Ljósavatn is at Ljósa­ vatnsskarð, South-Þing­ eyjarsýsla, to the east of Akureyri. The lake is located approx. 25 km from Akureyri and 415 km from Reykjavík. Ljósavatn covers just about 3.2 km 2 . You can fish in all the lake unless the land of Vatnsendi - see map. Camping by the lake is prohibited. Medium sized char is the most likely catch; one can as well expect large brown trout. Fishing is allowed all day between 20th May and 30th September. Cardholders need to register before fishing at Kross. Restricted area is in the Vatnsendi land, see red zone on the map. Area from Geitá to Dauðatangi.
