91 ENGLISH Vífilsstaðavatn is located in Garðabær, a suburb of Reykjavik. The lake covers an area of 0.27 km 2 . Char and brown trout are found in the lake, with an average weight of 1-2 pounds.  Please be careful with the birdlife. It is prohibited to fish on a small area on the north bank-see map. Neither camping nor usage of boats and kayaks is allowed on the lake. Please respect the nature reserve with no littering and don´t throw away fishing lines, leaders and hooks since it is very dangerous for the birdlife. Contact persons is Ásta Leifsdóttir, tel. 820- 8580. Cardholders can go directly to fish in the lake without registering earlier. Bait: Only fly, lures and worm allowed. All other bait and grease strichtly forbidden. For those who don´t have the Fishing Card, daypass can be purchased at Gardabaer Service Center Tel. 525-8500 or by contacting Linda Björk, tel. 820-8574.
