25 ENGLISH Gislholtsvatn is located in Holtum, near the town of Hella, in Southern Iceland. Distance from Reykjavík is about 85 km. Enter road nr. 284 from Highway no. 1. The lake covers an area of 1.6 km 2 . Fishing is allowed in the land of Gislholt (western part in the land of Gislholt -see map). The lake contains brown trout and char. Allowed bait to use is: fly, worm and spinners. Fishermen can drive directly to the lake if they have the Fishing card visible in the front window of the car. Fishing is allowed all day, all year around. No organised camping area is available, however you can camp by the lake with a permission and advice of the landowners.
