ENGLISH Syðridalsvatn is located at Bolungarvík in Ísafjarðardjúp, to the far North-West of Iceland. Distance from Reykjavík is 470 km, but only a few km. from the nearest towns. The lake covers an area of 1 km 2 . Cardholders are welcome to try out the Rivers Gilsá and Fossá as well. Cardholders are not allowed to fish in river Ósa unless having bought separate licence for the river at veiditorg.is. There is a designated camping site in Bolungarvík, along with various recreational facilities. This lake is excellent for fishing. There you can catch sea char, brown trout and even salmon. The best places are close to the farm Hanhóll, near the Miðdalur farm and at the Selá river mouth. Fishing is allowed from 7:00 a.m. - 10:00 p.m., between 1st April and 20th September.
