ENGLISH Sléttuhlíðarvatn is located near Highway 76, north of Hofsós and about 30 minutes drive from Siglufjörður. The distance from Reykjavík is 360 km, 21 km from Hofsós and 50 km from Sauðárkrókur. The lake covers an area of 0.76 km 2 . Fishing is only allowed on the property of the Miðholl and Hraun farm, marked with appropriate signs. Camping area is available for fee - more information at Hraun farm. Sea char and brown trout are both found in abundance. Fishing is allowed from 08:00 am to midnight between 1st May and 20th September. Fishing is good all season.
