83 ENGLISH Urriðavatn is located in Eastern Iceland. The distance from Reykjavik is 664 km and only 5 km from Egilsstaðir.  Highways 1 and 925 run by the lake. The lake covers an area of 1.1 km 2 . The creeks Hafralónslækur and Merkilækur are its main tributaries. The best place for fishing is where the creeks enter the lake. The lake has great fishing potential for char.Fishing is allowed from dawn to dusk. Camping is forbidden by the lake but camping is possible at Skipalaekur that is close to Lagarfljot (4km).
